NY WTC: A Living Archive
Thomas Airview - Excavation

Aerial view of WTC site in the late 1960s, showing foundation, known as "the bathtub," and cranes for tower construction. Landfill for the future Battery Park City is at lower right. Piers to the left of the landfill have been retained for ships bringing in construction supplies. The piers were later demolished and the landfill extended for what is now the World Financial Center. At center is the remaining twin Hudson Terminal Bulding, soon to be wrecked. Chase Plaza is the tall slab building at the upper right.
